Bob Kascht is a retired physician who lives in Waukesha,Wisconsin with his wife, Mary Ann. For thirty years as a pathologist he studied and described diseases and tumors, and honed his powers of observation. In the last twenty years he changed his focus, refined his vocabulary and expanded his interests to include documentation of human foibles and musings about the meaning of it all. He has a wide range of interests, especially the world of nature, the outdoors and concerns for ecology. His offspring provide a stimulating diversity: a naturalist, a literature teacher, a physician and an artist. Family gatherings are very spirited. He is an ardent admirer of Lewis Thomas who also is a physician, a pathologist and a writer, and Aldo Leopold, who needs no listing of credentials. He is more than slightly devoted to Thoreau and Robert Frost
